Safe Working Instructions – Entering the Site
Drive slowly and stop at swipe card reader before approaching barrier.
Key point: Do not enter the site during tea break; 10am-10.15am, or lunch time 1.00pm-1.30pm.
Safety point: No passengers are allowed into the MRF, they must disembark at the weighbridge area and re-join the vehicle when it is exiting the site.
After swiping your access card proceed onto the weighbridge after the barrier has raised fully.
Key point: Drive slowly and observe all road signage and markings on site.
Safety Point: Allow any passengers to disembark prior to moving onto the weighbridge.
Drive slowly and come to a halt at the swipe card reader on the weighbridge.
Key point: Only one vehicle at a time on the weighbridge. Do not drive behind another vehicle on the bridge as this will cause the weighbridge to malfunction.
Safety point: If exiting the vehicle while on the weighbridge use the steps provided and do not jump from the vehicle.
Once the weighing process is completed the barrier will raise and you can leave the weighbridge and proceed to the loading or tipping areas.
Key point: Wait for the barrier to raise fully before proceeding.
Safety point: Audible reversing mechanisms and vehicle beacons/flashing lights must be functioning at all times.
